Økern is in the same district as Oslo municipality recently proposed as a possible location for NRK on one of their plots. They would like to keep the media giant in the capital, an idea that has broad political majority in the city council.
Now Bonum is proposing that the state broadcaster settles on their plot at Økern, tempting them with a sketch created together with Topic Archtecture and A-LAB.
– We believe the plot is ideal for NRK's outlined needs, virtually right at the public transport hub at Økern. The upcoming transformation of this area is exciting, and NRK now has the opportunity to secure a strategic location, says marketing manager and partner Ruben Wilhelmsen at Bonum in a press release.
He believes NRK will have the opportunity to build a future-oriented broadcasting centre there, in an area undergoing strong development and within easy reach of the entire city and other regions.
– Økern is an important transformation area and it would obviously be very positive for both Oslo, Hovinbyen and Økern locally if NRK, as an important generator for culture and urban life, moves here, he points out.
The sketch Bonum, Topic and A-Lab have come up with provides a potential development of up to 80,200 square metres if adjacent plot areas are also included.
– Between the buildings lies a square that can function on a daily basis as a meeting place for NRK's departments. The buildings are connected by a large basement under the entire property. Furthermore, there is direct connection to the national road network and proximity to E6 and ring 3, points out acquisition manager and partner Anders Bakken Eriksen at Bonum.
