Bonum opens new commercial concept in Henrik Ibsens gate
Bonum has acquired and will develop Henrik Ibsens gate 40-42 to its true potential.

New meeting place
Bonum has acquired and will develop Henrik Ibsens gate 40-42 to its true potential. The building, with one of Oslo's most central locations, will be renovated to top modern standards. Right between Karl Johans gate, the Royal Palace, Aker Brygge and Solli plass you will find Bonum's new major venture in catering and offices.
"Bonum will complete the development of the area with Stordalen's new hotel and Fredensborg's venture in the former American embassy. There will be a unique concept on the first floor with distinctive catering that will invite the business community in the area in, with meeting room facilities in the basement where the property's office users can utilise the facilities in addition to external guests," says Kjell Kristian Olstad, Investment Director at Bonum.
The historic building from 1875 extends over four full floors above ground in addition to an attic and basement. The lower floor is connected with the first floor and is fitted out with top modern meeting rooms that can be hired by the café's guests as well as being available to the office premises on the second to fourth floors.
Bonum's vision is to create a meeting place for café-goers, professionals and those who work in the building.
"The café attracts customers from the busy Henrik Ibsens gate, which is the main road between Oslo city centre and west Oslo with all the workplaces in the area around Solli plass and Vika. At the same time, the café has the important function as a canteen for the 75 workplaces in the building's three office floors. With the two functions as a meeting place with top modern meeting rooms and a catering venue, these premises have many legs to stand on," continues Bonum's Investment Director.
The area is elevated
"The tenant structure has not yet been set, but there will be very fine office premises for both single users who want their own building or multiple users who want smaller office premises. Each office floor can serve up to 25 office spaces, which we feel there is great demand for and a small vacuum in the market for at the present time. Competing properties that offer offices of this size often have to share the floor with other tenants," concludes Olstad.
The modernisation of Henrik Ibsens gate 40-42 is only a small part of the total refurbishment and development of the area around Solli plass. The former American embassy is being refurbished and will consist of office premises and catering venues. At Solli plass, Sommerrogata 1 and Inkognitogata 37 will be completely renovated.
