Bonum and Folksom buy into smart module company.

Camp Supply International (CSI) has built up a significant track record in the design, production and sale of modular units for the defence market. The company has a solid reputation for delivering high-quality products and is also in the process of establishing itself properly in the private property market, according to a press release.

CSI is now going all in on modular buildings, primarily bedsit buildings, apartment buildings, office buildings and hotel buildings through the establishment of the company Cubes Construction, where Britt Røed Lohne has been employed as managing director. Middelborg AS, represented by Kristian Lundkvist, is entering as an investor in the parent company Camp Supply Holding, whilst solid property environments are represented in Cubes Construction through Folksom and Bonum.

"It is a fantastic opportunity and a great strength to bring in co-owners who will help develop this together with us. We have seen great potential in our products and with partners on the team we now have a tremendous opportunity to take this technology further into the construction market," say founders Harald Andersen and Ole Henrik Eftedal.

Bonum, for its part, sees this as a strategic investment that aligns well with some of their projects going forward, and Folksom sees several synergies.

"This is an exciting opportunity for us to take a position as a provider of modular units," states managing director Pål Egeland at Folksom.

He is also pleased to have brought Britt Røed Lohne on board to lead the venture. She has spent the past seven years as managing director of the contracting company WK Entreprenør.

"I think it is exciting to contribute to a company that will offer technology, concepts and solutions that enable us to build faster, better and smarter, in addition to the solution looking stylish. It is also very inspiring to participate together with solid, professional and innovative owners," she states.

"With her network, expertise and professionalism, we have already laid a good foundation for creating a good product," notes Egeland.

The company is in the process of certifying the modular solutions and bringing in more resources to develop and lead the projects going forward.

"We have already received many exciting enquiries and will, as soon as the products are ready and certified, begin delivering projects in Cubes," says Røed Lohne.

Marketing manager and partner Ruben Wilhelmsen at Bonum says there are several aspects of CSI Smart modul they find interesting, without going into anything concrete.

"The property sector is constantly evolving and we see great opportunities ahead in modular construction, in addition this aligns well with our current focus through the Bonum NXT concept, where we are working on precisely how we can apply new technology, alternative housing forms, environmental technology and innovative architecture in our projects," he says.
