Create a cosy and exciting living room in 1-2-3
We can expect winter to arrive just as quickly as summer, even though it is said we will have good weather for a while yet!

We can expect winter to arrive just as quickly as summer, even though it is said we will have good weather for a while yet!
When winter arrives, we retreat once again under the blanket in the sofa corner, and then it is always nice to have a living room where you can feel cosy.
Here are our 7 tips for a winter-ready living room:
STEP 1: DO NOT LET THE LIVING ROOM BECOME TOO NEUTRAL AND BORING
Contrasts are good. Variation in textiles and surfaces will make the room more interesting and create depth.

STEP 2: DO NOT LET THE PEOPLE BE THE ONLY ONES BREATHING
Living plants are a must – this creates harmony in the living room!

STEP 3: MIX TEXTILES
A seating group does not always need to have the same finish and design – also mix between heavy and light furniture. Texture and structure in textiles will make the room warmer. Blankets on the sofa and rugs on the floor will make any cold room warmer. Replace cold, white blinds with thick, warm curtains for a cosier expression.

STEP 4: CREATE ZONES
The living room often has several functions and needs, and therefore it is important to define the different zones. If you have a large room, you can divide the room with, for example, plants or a piece of furniture. Floor rugs also help to define zones in a room and to bring seating groups together.

STEP 5: WE NEED LIGHT
Quite a bit more than we think, at least in winter. Create room within the room by using different light fixtures. Remember that there are floor lamps and wall lamps in addition to ceiling lamps. Lamps do not only need to be used for the function of light, but a cool lamp can also become an eye-catcher in the room.

STEP 6: REPEAT THE COLOURS
Do not just buy a blue vase because it was nice, also bring along the two blue cushions that matched. This will make everything look more thought through.

STEP 7: FILL THE LIVING ROOM WITH THINGS FROM YOUR LIFE
Use things that mean something to you. You will immediately feel more at home, and people who come to visit will immediately be able to pick up on your personality and find it interesting. Nothing is as boring as coming home to a home taken straight from a catalogue without any personal touches. If you like surfing, buy a vintage surfboard and find a place for it on the wall. If you like travelling, print out nice pictures you have taken on trips and get them up on the wall. Be creative!
