Behind a massive solar panel installation in Moss

Bonum and Sunday Power have joined forces to create one of Østfold's largest roof-mounted solar panel installations in commercial buildings
Bonum has, in collaboration with Sunday Power, developed an extensive solar panel installation covering nearly 14,000 square metres of the roof surface on Bonum's property at Larkollveien 4. The solution was designed by Sastech, whilst the project development was delivered by Sunday Power, according to a press release.
Chief Executive Officer Anders Eriksen at Bonum expresses great satisfaction with the project:
"By utilising the large roof area for solar energy production, we are taking an important step towards a more sustainable future. The collaboration with Sastech and Sunday Power has been crucial for this innovative initiative," he says.
Sustainable innovation in practice
The installation represents a significant investment in renewable energy in the region. By using a ballasted mounting system, direct interventions in the building structure are avoided, which preserves the building's integrity whilst maximising energy production.
"With an installation of this size, Bonum demonstrates that they take sustainability seriously. The installation will produce approximately 900,000 kWh per year, which corresponds to the consumption of 58 households. It is a significant measure," says Chief Executive Officer Jonas Ibsen Brynildsrud at Sunday Power.
The solar panel specialist is the installer and subcontractor for the installation. Sastech, which is a total supplier of renewable energy solutions, has contributed with the original technical assessment, whilst Sunday Power was engaged to develop the project.
With an annual production of approximately 1,050kWp, the installation reduces the carbon footprint and strengthens the region's position within renewable energy, in line with the Climate Plan in Moss municipality.
"The municipality has a goal that at least 70GWh more sustainable, renewable energy should be produced. This solar panel installation is a contribution towards reaching both local and national targets for emission reduction. We hope it can inspire others to invest in similar solutions," Anders Eriksen concludes.
