Mesh Norway founders Anders Mjåset and Karl Kristian Wickstrøm won the Cityglød 2017 award

Estate Kunnskap and the association Ung i Næringseiendom presented the first award to young and promising talents in the property industry on Thursday evening during the banquet at Citykonferansen. The award honours younger professionals in the property industry, and was to be given to a person who has distinguished themselves in a positive way, given something back and/or created something new and who represents the future of the property industry.

There were four nominated candidates competing for the award:

Emil Eriksrud, who at the young age of 33 has already turned the property industry in Telemark and Vestfold on its head through his investment in R8 Property.

Neira Macic, who at the age of 26 has already become a permanent fixture in the socio-economic debate in Norway, and perhaps particularly in the debate about house prices.

Anders Mjåset and Karl Kristian Wickstrøm, who have started up Mesh Norway and built up the business to become an extremely innovative and exciting contributor to entrepreneurial activity for Norwegian business.

Anne Marit Kielland Juel, who through her job as project manager in Statsbygg's advisory service has been involved in the development of the service that professionalises the state's role as tenant.

The jury, consisting of committee chair Salman Saeed (Bonum and Ung i Næringseiendom), Henrik Rudene Taubøll (BA-HR and Ung i Næringseiendom), Cecilie Walle (Estate Kunnskap) and Gunnar Bøyum (Aspelin Ramm), concluded that Mesh founders Anders Mjåset and Karl Kristian Wickstrøm deserved the Cityglød 2017 award.

"For having contributed in an innovative and collaborative manner to the creation of a forum that cultivates creativity and innovation within the property industry but also far beyond it, Cityglød 2017 goes to Mesh Norway and Anders Mjåset and Karl Kristian Wickstrøm. The launch of Mesh Norway is an extremely innovative and exciting contributor to entrepreneurial activity for Norwegian business. Mesh is an original platform that brings together start-up companies with the aim of offering office space and creating meeting places for entrepreneurs in the start-up phase," the jury writes in its justification.

"Thank you so much, this is incredibly cool," said Mjåset when he received the award and immediately invited the entire industry in the room to a property tech event at Mesh.

Anders Mjåset also wanted to highlight start-up partner Audun Ueland as an important contributor in the early entrepreneurial work.
